As children begin going back to school I find myself reflecting on my own kids and how I wanted everything to be “perfect” for them. There are so many things I’ve learned since then...
Life is not “perfect”. Remember, just like yourself, your children are here to learn their lessons. Our job as parents is to empower them to make the best decisions for their path. If we spend all of our time trying to make their lives perfect and easy, they will not learn these lessons until they are older and trust me, it gets harder.
Teach them that they have control over every situation, they may not control the outcome of every situation, but they control how they react to it, how they allow it to affect them.
When they are disappointed by a situation, don’t sit and wallow in pity with them, ask them what they learned from it. Empower them to find a positive and stay in their power. Teach them to get excited! Excited because thru hard times and disappointment are when we learn some of our most valuable lessons. They are growing thru one more that they can check off the list!!!
